Rapid-then-slow migration reproduces mass distribution of TRAPPIST-1 system

چکیده
The TRAPPIST-1 system is an iconic planetary in various aspects (e.g., habitability, resonant relation, and multiplicity) hence has attracted considerable attention. mass distribution of the planets characterized by two features: inner are large, masses four outer orbit increase with orbital distance. origin these features cannot be explained previous formation models. We investigate whether can reproduced a planet model using N-body simulations. used gas disk evolution around low-mass star constructed considering winds followed growth migration from embryos isolation mass, which increases As result, we find that initial phase, orbits undergo rapid migration, coalescence near edge enhanced. This allows to grow larger. Meanwhile, compared planets, migrate more slowly do not frequently collide neighboring planets. Therefore, trend increasing toward orbit, called reversed ranking, maintained. final approximately agrees system. discover when experience become trapped edge, then massive slower migration. transition achieved naturally winds.

Enhanced interplanetary panspermia in the TRAPPIST-1 system.
We present a simple model for estimating the probability of interplanetary panspermia in the recently discovered system of seven planets orbiting the ultracool dwarf star TRAPPIST-1 and find that panspermia is potentially orders of magnitude more likely to occur in the TRAPPIST-1 system compared with the Earth-to-Mars case. As a consequence, we argue that the probability of abiogenesis is enhan...
متن کاملHabitable worlds with JWST: transit spectroscopy of the TRAPPIST-1 system?
The recent discovery of three Earth-sized, potentially habitable planets around a nearby cool star, TRAPPIST-1, has provided three key targets for the upcoming James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Depending on their atmospheric characteristics and precise orbit configurations, it is possible that any of the three planets may be in the liquid water habitable zone, meaning that they may be capable ...
متن کاملPhonetics and Phonology then , and then , and now 1
Phonetics attempts to describe and understand how speech is produced and perceived; phonology attempts to understand the patterning—in general, the behavior—of speech sounds in particular languages and in all languages. Is phonetics part of phonology? This straightforward question has received various answers at different points in the history of linguistics. In this paper I attempt to document...
متن کاملComparing outcomes of slow versus rapid feeding in premature neonates hospitalized in Al-Zahra hospital, Rasht
Background: one of the leading clinical problems for premature neonates especially with very low birth weight is the type and amount of feeding. The authors aimed to compare outcomes of slow versus rapid feeding in premature neonates hospitalized in Al-Zahra hospital, Rasht. Methods: This is a clinical trial that was conducted on 62 premature neonates aged less than 35 weeks of gestation who w...
